SDG LABORATORY for Green Journalism

Journalists from the Republic of Moldova, along with colleagues from Belarus, France, Germany, Poland and Ukraine, can apply for participation in the SDG Laboratory program. Journalists with experience in print, online, radio, TV, podcasting, film or video can apply. Applicants must be fluent in English.

Participants must have the opportunity to publish at least three journalistic articles during the project, including a cross-border collaboration. Materials can be developed in the participants’ native language.

Within the program, participants will be able to collaborate with colleagues from other countries to explore sustainable development, climate change and environmental issues beyond national borders, as well as develop journalistic materials. They will have the opportunity to strengthen their investigative skills, learn about digital security and how to effectively use AI in journalistic work.

Also, during the activities, participants will be able to hear from experts on important topics such as energy transition, circular economy, housing crisis and sustainable forestry. Participants in three offline labs in Moldova, Germany and Poland can visit relevant research organizations and institutes. The organizers count on full participation in all program modules, online workshops and offline meetings.

Applicants must have valid travel documents (passport, visa). The organizers will provide assistance with visa questions, cover travel expenses (economy class), accommodation and meals (mostly vegetarian). Also, the possibility of partial reimbursement of cross-border research travel expenses may be considered.
