Journalists from all over the world can submit their written stories, published in print or online, in the international True Story Award 2025 competition. Authors or editors can submit stories published between 1.10.2023-30.09.2024, and winners in the three categories announced will receive a prize of USD 20 000.

The competition expects stories that report on real events that have been researched on the ground and are based on rigorously researched facts. Entries must be between 3 000 and 17 000 words in length. Submissions to the competition will be entered in one of three categories: True Story Award Research, True Story Award Storytelling and True Story Award Impact.

Writers can submit their entries written in 10 languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Arabic, Chinese, German, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Russian and Spanish. Submissions in the original language must be accompanied by an abstract of at least 400 words in English.
