Entitled “Audience First: Investing in Strategies to Better Serve the Public,” the open call will provide media organizations across low- and middle-income countries with the funding needed to support public interest media in improving their audience strategies.
 
Focused on 40 countries, this funding opportunity includes the Eastern European region: Ukraine, Armenia, Moldova and Georgia. Awardees might receive around $250,000 over 24 months.
 
Grants will be awarded to organizations that play a vital role in producing and disseminating public interest journalism in the countries where they work and that are facing difficult financial circumstances as a result of local market conditions.
